Selling your flute

We act as mercantile agents for owners of fine wooden and silver classic flutes, particularly Rudall Cartes from the golden era at Berners Street 1878 to 1958.

Our aim is to give a straightforward and transparent service that is fair to both seller and buyer. Every week hundreds of discerning players and collectors visit our website from all over the world. . We regularly sell to customers in USA, Canada, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, etc

How it works
1. We and the seller agree that we shall act as their mercantile agent. Once the flute is in our possession we will not require further authorisation from the seller when we complete the sale. We do however at our discretion set a minimum selling price in consultation with the seller.

2. Flutes in our care and possession are covered by our business insurance, including in transit to a potential buyer and while out on trial.

3. We carry out, in agreement with the seller, any repairs and servicing required to bring the flute up to good playing order. This work is invoiced to the seller before the flute is offered for sale.
4. We advertise the flute in our online shop where the flute will be offered for immediate sale at a fixed price, and also through our contacts. We have customers all over the world who check our website regularly, and a waiting list for top quality Rudall Cartes. A potential buyer may receive the flute for a 14-day trial.
5. Once a buyer has agreed to buy the flute and has paid for it in full, we remove the full advert from our website.
6. With the sale complete, and the legally required 14-day cooling-off period expired, we pay the sale proceeds, less our commission of 20%, to the seller at the end of the following month.
