Rudall Carte 1867-Patent system flute

> cocuswood with silver keywork

> modern pitch

> very good condition

> in playing order

Rudall Carte 1867-Patent system flutes that play at modern pitch are comparatively rare. This example was made by Tom Hinde in 1897. It has the extra pair of trillers. Unusually RH2 operates only the adjacent key under the buttons rather than both it and the next along, so is similar to the configuration on Carte's 1867 piccolos. Otherwise the system is the standard one, with open G sharp and the various alternative fingerings.

The silver-lined headjoint is particularly fine, with an original ebonite bush to give tighter articulation. Pads are old, of the soft variety, and work very well. The flutes is in good playing order. It has not been through our workshop and is sold as seen.

It comes in its original case with cork grease pot.
