Rudall Carte modern pitch flute

> cocuswood with German silver keywork

> modern pitch A=440

> closed G sharp

> very good condition

> in playing order

This is a good example of the German silver (nickel alloy) mechanism flutes that Rudall Carte produced during the 1920s and 1930s. This one was made in 1922 by Gus Kurzendorfer, a craftsman who specialised in these instruments. Having seen a number of his flutes we can say that the quality of his work is consistently high.

Condition is very good. There are repaired cracks to headjoint (not through embouchure hole) and footjoint. The flute is in playing condition. It has not been through our workshop, would benefit at some point in the future from a service (COA) and general tightening of the keywork, and is sold as seen. It comes in its original case.
